Meditation for a Bad Body Day
Oh, my beloved, let us meet here in this place where you are guarded and protected from those who would judge your body by any standard.
Beloved, I understand that you are just not able to take in the entirety of yourself right now.
Breathe in, and breathe out. Start with these lungs that support your laughter, your tears, your aliveness. Bring your awareness to the intricate network of your lungs and notice that they function without approval or even attention. Notice the perfection of your breath, just as it is, right now.
Breathe in, and breathe out. Notice now the heart, how its constant rhythm continues, without approval or even attention. Notice the perfection of your heart, just as it is, right now.
Beloved, move slowly now. Allow yourself to pause at any moment.
Bring your awareness to your body. Notice the air that forms and re-forms around you, embraces your body without hesitation. Notice the space that you occupy and know that this space is yours.
Allow your hands to rest on your body. Feel the curve and shape of the skin under your hand. Notice its softness, its firmness, its fundamental aliveness.
Move your hands over your body, pausing at the places where your whole being vibrates with approval. Gather up the energy of uncomplicated love at this place and trail it over the rest of your body.
Let it rest. Let it sit, still, as you breathe. Trust that it will saturate you to the deepest level of your being.
